Coach Education

Peter Branca

Club Coach Coordinator (8 – 12 Boys)

Bio

My coaching philosophy is ‘longer term’ player development over a ‘short term’ results. The essence of this approach is to develop players with a strong technical base through a possession based style of play. There is strong evidence to suggest that this approach provides better overall enjoyment for players, as well as being fundamental to developing essential base skills. Importantly, players will get more enjoyment from playing and are more likely to stay in the sport longer. Having been a parent coach for several years, I can empathise with what coaches go though, especially when there is pressure to win on game day. My role as CCC is to help standardise junior Boys Coaching for any advice and mentoring they may need to make their coaching experience better and more effective.
