Glen Eira FC offers teams for women and girls aged 17+ who want to play for social fun and fitness. It’s a great place to try soccer if you’ve not played before or to start playing again if you played as a junior or at school.
A second senior women’s team was added in Season 2020. The Glen Eira (Firebirds) is a competitive team for players who are dedicated and focused on the game and their own development. Entry will be by email offer based on player ability. Coach of the Firebirds is Dave White.
The Glen Eira (Sirens) are an ungraded team for players who are in it for the enjoyment of the game and the improved social outcomes/life skills that come from participating in organised team sport. Sirens are coached by Arvin Singh.
The Glen Eira (Gryphons) are an ungraded team for players who are in it for the enjoyment of the game and the improved social outcomes/life skills that come from participating in organised team sport. Gryphons are coached by Maggie Stavrou.
Glen Eira’s U18 girls and Senior Women’s teams compete in the FV South zone. Matches are played on Sundays from April through late August/ early Sept (school terms 2 & 3). From late March onwards, you can click here to view the Fixture Draw.
The season usually consists of 18 rounds — 9 home matches and 9 away matches.
- Home matches are played at Lord Reserve in Carnegie or Mackie Road Reserve in East Bentleigh.
- Away matches are played against clubs in Melbourne’s south and east. Travel times are usually 20 to 40 minutes, but you might get one or two per season that are an hour or more away.
