Hi, I’m Craig, the current Vice President of Glen Eira FC and seeking re-election for 2021.

Over the last 15 years, I’ve had the enormous pleasure of being involved in the club as a parent, player, coach, team-manager, age-group coordinator, and committee member. During this time I’ve watched the club go from strength to strength and have been privileged to have had the opportunity to contribute towards many positive, rewarding, and memorable experiences for club members and their families.

I seek your support for my nomination for Vice President in 2021.
If successful I will ensure the club continues to:

  • Promote and provide a football culture that is focused on enjoyment and fairness for all players regardless of ability, age, or gender.
  • Caters for all categories of football  – MiniRoos, Junior Community, Junior NPL, Seniors, (both social and competitive), WheelChair, All-Abilities
  • Has affordable fees.
  • Is community-focused.
  • Listens to, and is responsive to all sections of our football community.

Professionally I work in the sports tech space, so I am able to ensure the club is up-to-date with the latest technology trends relevant to grassroots sport. I have worked with multiple sporting bodies in designing and developing digital solutions for both elite and community sports organisations, including FV, FFA, AFC, and AFL.

Hi, I’m Sam, the current Match and Facilities Manager for Glen Eira FC and am seeking to be re elected for 2021 to continue work on the opportunities we have in Facilities for our fantastic community club.

Over the past 7 years I’ve been involved in the club with my son and it has been my privilege and pleasure to be part of the committee for the past 2 years. The club as grown and developed so much and there is so much more we can and will do.

Covid 19 has been challenging for so many, in many ways. I will continue to work closely with Football Victoria and others in our club, ensuring the protocols that have been put in place to ensure a safe ‘return to training’ can continue.

I am proud to have large part of securing the Knox facilities for the JBNPL as well as securing the licence to compete and will continue to explore new opportunities together with FV to secure more, all year-round, training solutions as our club as it continues to expand.

Glen Eira FC can continue to be a club The is ‘Football for All’ all- abilities, MiniRoos, Junior Community, Junior NPL, Girls and Women’s Football and Seniors.

Together with my passion for football, as a Mum, committee member and love of the world game, to ensure Football is accessible to all, I would be privileged to continue to service on the committee in 2021 ensuring this great club of ours is everything it can be for all members.

My name is Harry Georgiou and I have had the pleasure of being part of
the Glen Eira FC over the last 7 years. My son has been playing for
GEFC since 2013.

I am passionate about player development / growth and an active
football member. I have a desire to see the game and GEFC be a
success that it thoroughly deserves.

With my corporate experience in the facility management sector over the
last 20 years I look forward to take a hands-on and collaborate approach
to achieve great results.

Some of my strengths that I can offer GEFC:

I’m currently the Director of People Strategy at Melbourne-based global BI software developer Yellowfin and a Director of the North American and Japanese entities with 20+ years of cross-sector experience in a range of roles. I’ve significant experience in strategy and process development, change management, negotiation and advocacy.

I am also the Co-Chair of the Grants Committee (Pro-Bono) of the Melbourne Women’s Fund, which is a giving circle making pivotal grants to emerging Not-For-Profits, working to redress disadvantage for Melbourne women and their families. I’m a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and have undertaken further studies in governance, finance, strategy and risk.

I’m passionate about community and giving back, and believe so much of what I enjoy about being a part of Glen Eira FC is its strong network of amazing volunteers and alignment with these values.

I’ve been an active member of the Glen Eira FC community since 2016. I’m a current Glen Eira FC Committee Member, the U16 Boys Coordinator and am a former Team Manager. I have a boy and girl playing at the social level and am a convert to the beautiful game via the Soccer Mums program!

In 2020 I’ve continued to apply my knowledge of grants for the benefit of the club to successfully obtain grants funding from local, state and federal government and industry procuring $13K of much needed grants this financial year, with another $7K of grants pending. I’m keen to continue this work with the Committee and further leverage the relationships I’ve developed to obtain additional funds to improve club facilities and to support delivery of our great programs.

With your support I’m looking forward to continuing my successful collaboration with the existing GEFC Committee and management team, to continue to manage and mitigate risks to support our ongoing viability as a club, and looking past COVID, to develop strategies to support the next phase of our growth.

Reason for standing
I have managed large teams in sales, hospitality and warehousing and currently am self employed.

I have two beautiful girls, Eleanor 4 and Evelyn 18 months. I am an active Volunteer at my daughters childcare and kinder and within Glen Eira FC.

Having moved into Carnegie in 2017 I have always wanted to be part of the local community. Hailing from the UK and a rural town I was always involved with volunteering and being available for mentoring and leadership.

I started my own Sunday league team when I was 19 and managed this team till I was 23 and left for Australia.  I’m a passionate football fan and have played the game since I was 5. Playing county level in the UK and captaining and managing my school and Saturday and Sunday teams.

Playing at Glen Eira FC for 5 years, I have helped the senior men’s game from 30 people having a casual kick about for training to hosting structured training sessions for 80+ people. With a new semi competitive team providing a more challenging environment for players. 

I’ve been involved In organising the end of season social as well as Gala dinners for the senior teams the past Two years.

My aim on the committee is to help grow the senior game at Glen Eira FC, Men and Women. With many young children maturing with the club and not having a final senior team to be part of really worries me.  As a father to 2 little girls I am looking forward to them growing with our local club and having access to fantastic facilities for the future generations. This includes the provision of a synthetic pitch for Lord Reserve as well as a modern pavilion. 

I’m looking forward to being a supportive and vocal member in the committee.

Victor Andjelkovic

Victor is the Transformation Program Manager with Bulla Dairy Foods. His uses his extensive experience in change management and leadership skills to help the club navigate the ever-changing football landscape we operate in.

Victor has three boys playing at the club and has been coaching at Glen Eira more or less continuously for almost 10 years.

Proud Dad to Jordan, 17, and Lucas, 15, John has been a parent of the Glen Eira Football Club since 2012. In that time the family have been active supporters of the club with both boys having come through the successful Budding Ref program, whilst John has volunteered his time to Coaching over the last 6 years.

John has over 25 years’ experience across a number of industry sectors including Healthcare, Retail, Transport/Logistics, and the Arts. Prior to taking up the role as General Manager Channel Development with 24-7 Healthcare, he held various roles including – Head of Hearing Healthcare with Medibank Private, Business Development Executive with Vision Eye Institute and Commercial Development Manager with National Hearing Care.

John has previously served as Chairman and Board member of Multicultural Arts Victoria (MAV), a not for profit organisation that represents artists and communities from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. John wishes to assist the Club in its next phase of growth and development (in particular the forthcoming redevelopment of Lord Reserve) with his key strengths being:

  • Product/business development/innovation
  • Business growth and strategic marketing
  • Strategy development, execution, and change management

I have had an ongoing association with the GEFC through two of my sons who are/have been active members of the club, Harley (now “retired” U12 – U15 Boys goalkeeper) and Judah who plays for the U9 Boys and whose U8 Boys team won the Castlefield Cup for GEFC during the 2019 season.

In addition, my wide Danielle has served as the team manager for Judah’s U8 and U9 teams at GEFC.

My family and I are passionate supporters of our sons’ extracurricular sporting interests which have thrived over the years ever since they were both warmly welcomed into the GEFC family.

I believe in and wholeheartedly support community-based sports clubs as one of the best ways to enable and build an enduring and long-lasting community spirit characterised by social cohesion, collaboration and inclusion. Parental participation is such clubs, where GEFC is an exemplar, is an important aspect of role modelling for the current and next generation of players and ultimately, our future community leaders.

I will bring this passion along with my personal and professional skills to GEFC, assisting the club’s leadership and Committee to deliver on their strategic and operational plans.

Mara Karro

I’m Mara Karro, and I have been a member of Glen Eira FC since 2014. I am passionate about giving each child and adult the opportunity to play sports at the level that they wish to participate.

My two daughters (Harley 12 and Miri 10) as well as my husband (Gary) play at Glen Eira FC. I played for Glen Eira back in 2018. I have coached at Glen Eira FC, and was the assistant coach of the U12 Girls’ Development Squad (GDS) in 2020. In 2021 I plan to undertake my FFA C-Licence course because I love coaching and want to increase my expertise.

Outside of Glen Eira FC, I am a PE teacher – so my life is all about sport!

Glen Eira FC is a fantastic club that has grown exponentially in size over the past 5-8 years. We have outgrown our facilities and grounds, and this is holding us back. Whilst the redevelopment of the Lord Reserve Club Rooms is positive, we need more grounds to be available all year round, and in all weather. We desperately need a synthetic pitch (or two!) to keep up with the demand for all our members to play football all year round. We only have access to Lord Reserve for half a year. I do not want to see this limited ground access to stop children and adults playing football (& futsal) at Glen Eira FC. My two daughters would love to play and train all year round for Glen Eira FC. That is why I want to join the Glen Eira FC Committee and specifically in the role of Match and Facilities Manager .

I want to contribute to better facilities for our members and future members of Glen Eira FC and for my legacy at the Club to include better facilities. With your support, I look forward to assisting the hard working team on the Glen Eira FC Committee.

Secretary Brett Williams has announced the Club’s 2020 AGM. Please find below the Notice of AGM along with links to the relevant forms.

To protect the health and safety of our members, and to allow more members to attend the meeting, we will hold a fully virtual meeting, which means there will not be a physical venue for members to attend.

  • If the number of nominations for positions on the Committee exceeds the number of positions available, a ballot will be held.
  • In order to be eligible to vote in the ballot, members must attend the virtual AGM or appoint another member who is attending to vote as their proxy.
  • In order to attend the virtual AGM, members must register to attend. Attendance registrations must be lodged at least 24 hours prior to the start of the meeting.

Statements that are received after this time and date, or which exceed 1000 words, will not be accepted.
