Vision for Marlborough Street Reserve

Planning Announcement

Glen Eira FC welcomes the extension of Marlborough Street Reserve and the provision of a new pavilion and synthetic pitch as part of the East Village project.  See the Council East Village page and Victoria Planning Authority East Village site.

Refer 6.3 Active Open Space on p.47 of the  East Village – Social Infrastructure Assessment (ASR Research) – September 2018:

  • Expand the size of Marlborough Street Reserve by providing additional public open
space within East Village where it abuts the Reserve.
  • Relocating the pavilion at the Reserve to the western edge of the expanded site.
  • Increasing the size of the sports playing field at the Reserve made possible by the
relocation of the car park and pavilion; and
  • Converting the grassed playing surface to a synthetic surface to allow the Reserve to
cater for more future demand and diversify the sports and activities the playing area
    can be used for.

Glen Eira FC envisages also that:

  • Main pitch should be equipped with 150 Lux lighting levels to allow for night matches.
