U13 - U18 Boys Community Teams

Glen Eira FC's Boys Community teams offer boys the opportunity to play with, and against, players of a similar skill-level as themselves.

Boys Community teams offer good skills development whilst maximising player satisfaction.

  • Matches are played on Sundays from early April till early Sept.
  • Match format for U14-U18 is 11v11 on a full-size pitch.
  • Match format for U13 is 9v9 on a half-pitch or box-to-box.
  • The training night(s) depends on which particular team you are in.  Different teams train on different nights.
  • Home Matches & Training Sessions are held in Carnegie or East Bentleigh.
  • Away matches are mostly Melbourne southside.

Community Graded teams are suitable for aspiring boys who are dedicated and focused on the game and their own development.

  • Trials are held in November to allocate the spots in community graded teams based on players' skill levels.  Session details, as soon as they are confirmed, will be sent to new players who submit an EOI.  Returning players (those already in a 2025 Glen Eira team) will also be notified.
  • Community graded teams mostly train twice-a-week during the winter season. At Lord Reserve, Carnegie.


Community Social teams are friendship-based teams for boys who are in it for the enjoyment of the game and the improved social outcomes/life skills that come from participating in organised team sport.

  • Spots in social teams are allocated based on incumbent players and existing friendship groups. Try-out sessions are held in February/March to determine the most suitable team for new players to join.
  • Community social teams mostly train once-a-week during the winter season. At Lord Reserve, Carnegie.


Age Cutoffs

  • Boys born in 2013, play in the U13 Boys age group in Season 2026
  • Boys born in 2012, play in the U14 Boys age group in Season 2026
  • Boys born in 2011, play in the U15 Boys age group in Season 2026
  • Boys born in 2010, play in the U16 Boys age group in Season 2026
  • Boys born in 2008 & 2009, play in the U18 Boys age group in Season 2026

Joining

  • The EOI is for New Players Only.
  • Returning Players (Ie. those who played for a Glen Eira FC team in Season 2025) shouldn't submit an EOI. They are automatically invited to relevant try-out sessions.
    Exception: Returning players wanting to change age groups should submit an EOI saying which age group they want.

U13 - U18 Boys NPL

The U13 to U18 Boys NPL squads at Glen Eira FC are coached by professional FTS Academy coaches who train them 3 times per week. The squads provide an environment to maximise player development, ensuring refined techniques, creativity and game insights are transferred into matches (via competitive environment). The players are guided through the relevant age-specific elements of playing a dynamic possession based style of football.

  • Suitable only for highly-skilled boys.
  • Boys’ NPL competition comprises over 30 matches played from Feb till Sep
  • Paid Academy Coaches
  • 3 Training sessions per week

  • Boys born in 2013, play in the U13 Boys age group in Season 2026
  • Boys born in 2012, play in the U14 Boys age group in Season 2026
  • Boys born in 2011, play in the U15 Boys age group in Season 2026
  • Boys born in 2010, play in the U16 Boys age group in Season 2026
  • Boys born in 2009 or 2008, play in the U18 Boys age group in Season 2026


2026 Trials Dates

Trials for the Boys' NPL squad commence in the 3rd week of October, 2025
Exact session details (venue, date & time) will be emailed to those who register to trial.
