Team Manager Role

Accessing your Team Dugout

The Team Dugout is at the heart of the team operations for Team Manager.
You can message the parents, load the matches and track attendances and so on.

To access your Team Dugout:

  1. Login into your My Details page on the Club website.

  2. Click on a link with the name of your team.

Create Team Whatsapp Group

Whatsapp provides an easy way for parents to get timely information about what's going on with the team.


To create a Whatsapp group, you need the mobile numbers of the members. Get the mobile numbers of the parents in your team from the Team Dugout (see above).


NOTE: For child safety reasons, children must not be added to the team chat.  They will work out their own ways of chatting amongst themselves.

Check Player Eligibility

In order to be eligible to play for Glen Eira FC in Football Victoria matches, the following conditions must be met.

  1. Players must be listed in the Team Dugout

  2. In the dugout, players must have a green or orange dollar icon.
         If the dollar icon is Red the 'No Pay No Play' policy is invoked unless the club provides an exemption.

  3. In the dugout, their Play Football status must be Active
         If their Play Football status is Missing from Play Football...
    • they have no injury insurance coverage
    • match results could be overturned
    • the club and the the responsible parties could have to front the tribunal for playing unregistered players
    • significant fines and penalties apply

  4. For U11-U21 Players, they must have a Player ID card with an up-to-date photo.

Send Comms for the Next Match

From the Dugout   >  Schedule  >  Click on your next match.

  • In the Notes Section, ask players to arrive 40 minutes before kickoff in order to avoid last-minute panics.
  • In the Description Section, allocate duties...Ground Marshal, Club AR (formerly known as Linesman), Snakes/Oranges, etc
  • Use Bulk Invite, to email parents to provide their player availability.

NOTE If you don't make it and you need to forfeit, you must provide 3 days notice otherwise the Club will be fined.

Player ID Cards

Applies to U11-U21 and Seniors

Player ID  Card  Link

Player ID Cards must be presented to the referee, along with your team sheets, 30 minutes prior to all matches. 

  • U11 players are included in case they're asked to fill in for an U12 team.

To Access your Player ID Cards, click on the ID Card Report link at the top left of your Team Dugout.


On Matchdays

  • Player ID cards must be presented along with your Team Sheets
  • Player ID cards don't normally change throughout the season.
  • Most TMs print out their Player ID cards. Some get them laminated.
  • Note however that rules allow for Player ID cards to presented electronically (on your phone screen)
  • Photocopied Player ID Cards aren't accepted.


No Player ID card (or No Photo) means

Player ID cards are proof that players are properly registered with FV in Play Football.   Without a valid Player ID card, players are ineligible to play in FV matches.

Playing without a valid Player ID card means:

  • they have no injury insurance coverage
  • match results could be overturned
  • the club and the responsible parties could have to front the tribunal for playing unregistered players.
  • significant fines and penalties apply

Team Sheets

Team Sheets are only required for U12-U21 teams and Seniors.


Access

  1. Login to your Gameday Passport
    If you don’t have a login, click the Register button. NOTE: You'll need to verify your email as part of Gameday registration. 
  2. Team Manager sends the email part (not their password) of their Gameday Passport, along with their Team Name, to the Club (via info@gleneirafc.com.au or text or whatsapp).
  3. Club grants team-level access to the Team Manager’s Gameday Passport and notifies them.

NOTE: For most teams, the sertup steps need to be completed over again EVERY year.  


Match Selection

  1. Click on Competitions and adjust the filters until your next match appears.  
  2. Click on PRE-MATCH

  1. Drag players from the pool on the left to your team selection on the right.
        If any players are missing, check in the dugout if they're 'Missing from Play Football'.
  2. Add the jersey numbers. Leave blank if you don't know them.
  3. Click Save Team Selection.

  1. Click on FV TeamSheet.  
  2. Save the PDF
  3. Print PDF


Present for Referee 

  1. Leave your Team Sheet and Player ID cards in the Referees Room 30 minutes prior to Kickoff.

Matchday Duties

For all age groups…

  • Arrive early at all matches to make sure that someone is available to deal with match day issues that may arise, or arrange a substitute team manager if you cannot attend
  • Meet & Greet opposition TM/Coach
  • Ensure your team's Ground Marshal escorts the referee to/from the rooms. 
  • Ground Marshal is responsible for the match balls.



For U12-U21 teams and Seniors…

Pre-Match

  1. Use a pen to make last minute updates to team sheet. 
    Eg Add names+FFA IDs of players in. Line through players out.  Fix up jersey numbers.
  2. Present Team Sheet and Player ID cards to referee 30 minutes prior
  3. Collect the 3 match balls from the service desk (home matches only).
  4. Ensure roles are fulfilled:
  • AR
  • Ground  Marshal
  • Half-time snacks


Post-Match

  1. Return the 3 match balls to the service desk after the match.
  2. Collect the referee pay from service desk. See FV Ref Fees.  (home matches only).
  3. Sign off on result (both teamsheets).
  4. Once signed off by Ref and both TMs, then take of photo of both team's team sheets.

Load Results

Only required for U12 -U21 teams and Seniors.

  • Submit the online match results to Sports TG by 6pm Sundays
  • For community leagues, you can choose to load only the Full-Time Score (FTS)
  • Or you can optionally load the HTS, FTS, Goal Scorers and  Yellow/Red Cards

Monitor Team Welfare

  • Monitor the wellbeing of players.
  • Monitor the wellbeing of coach/es.
  • Document any problems that arise between team members, parents, coaches and supporters and present these to a club representative.
  • Communicate parent concerns/complaints to the coach and/or club.
  • Report problems to the club early.  If anyone is unhappy with some aspect of their football experience, it's better to let the Club know early before a small problem turns nasty and blows up the team.

Other Duties

    1. Provide your own Working With Childrens Check details.
    2. Register as a Volunteer on Play Football
    3. Liaise with all team members, parents, coaches and officials to ensure all are informed of training, competition and club functions.
    4. Ensure parents know how to purchase their Playing Uniforms.
    5. Monitor and restock the team’s first aid kit as required.
    6. Organise tournament entries and entry fees as required.
